Category: Green and White Pages

Green and White; On the face of it, are the colors in my country Pakistan’s flag. Deep down, they depict an entire thought process I intend to explore here.

This is a feeble attempt to celebrate life. To explain it as I see it; to connect the dots, one speck at a time. Because no matter how fancy the words, or how much wisdom you have stashed away, life just cannot be summed up so simply. This is my way of making sense out of all that goes around in this crazy remarkable world of ours.

Green is for hope. White is for perseverance.

This is a humble attempt to unravel people and their intriguing stories. What makes them tick. What makes them tock. They all have their stories. They all have something to share. Maybe this time, my words will hear what they have to say.

Green is for hope. White is for perseverance.

Moving to a foreign country and knowing that a long stretch of birthdays, possibly for the rest of my life, are going to be spent away from home is a startling realization. But my words will help make sense of this love I share.

Coming from a country that has seen the darkest of days, I am amazed each day at how its people continue to stand with their heads held high; how their determination results in weak yet hopeful smiles, simply because they know no other way.

Read on for the Green that is hope and White that is perseverance.

“Oh, in our times, life was so wonderfully simple, without any stress…”,  or so exclaim many of our parents, their grandparents and well, keep going back as long as you feel like – this statement will only show minute nuances of variation! At the other end of the spectrum the situation is no different … More when it was oh-so perfect…

With or without limbs…

May 14, 2013

Irony is a funny thing. But at times it becomes very difficult to smile or appreciate this piercing humor. A raised eyebrow or complete bemusement at best, is what you should aim for. Some time last year, I remember passing by a kid without limbs, barely dragging himself on an unforgiving bumpy land in excruciating … More With or without limbs…
